Different definitions of an adventure

On day two of their sleepover at our little home, the husband told the kiddos with thorough enthusiasm, "We're going on an adventure!" "Ooh! Are we going to Chuck E. Cheese??" Key asked. "I hope we get to go to Disneyland," Rock said, "I really love going to Disneyland." "Ya!" Story chimed in. Alas, our destination was an ordinary, no-frills suburban park. Are parks not worthy of adventures anymore? We like to believe the kids still had a grand ol' time. One can't go wrong with multiple playgrounds and mammoth-sized ducks.

  1. It makes me happy browsing through your photos. For some reason, I'm seeing it through the eyes of a child within.

  2. Such a lovely outing, that's my kind of adventure too!

Rock, Key and Story are such unusual names. What's the story behind it?

    1. Hi Megan! Helen told me there was a question on her blog regarding our kids names :) My husband wanted to name our kids actual things (basically nouns). The example it stemmed from was, Peter (Jesus' disciple), actually was named Rock in Greek. And I'm sure your name Megan, means something pretty in another language, so he just thought, why not name them actual things :)

  13. haha! I love this. Disneyland is for sure an adventure, but personally I love the suburban park just the same. Probably more because it's much less crowded, right? :)
