Little mister or little miss?
We're being blessed with a lovely little miss! The husband and I both hoped for a girl (though we would have been overjoyed regardless, of course), and we already cannot wait to meet her! We told most of our family last week, and improvised a gender reveal with lovely chums yesterday evening. I'm 20 weeks along, and month 5 has been mighty terrific. I am poring over these helpful books, and I just finished accompanying the husband to his nighttime summer class, The Pastor's Home, for the two weeks prior, which was an exceedingly encouraging and helpful time to learn from godly couples in the ministry so that we could, Lord-willing, apply the principles to our own growing little family. I am also attempting to figure out what we truly, absolutely need for a new baby, so any and all advice is much appreciated (please!).

ReplyDeleteOH my goodness!!! Congratulations on baby girl!!
ReplyDeleteah yay! little girls are so lovely. boys are too, but all the little bows and dresses and pink that is part of it, is so lovely. congratulations helen! i'm sure she is going to be one loved and blessed little girl!
ReplyDeletecongrats!
ReplyDeleteSo utterly exited for you both!!!!! I will say that there are many more clothing options for girls:) It's been 8 years since I've had a baby so I am probably not the best advice giver, I am sure there are a ton of great new baby products out there. Looking back I was a really old fashioned mom. We lived in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment so we just didn't have a lot of baby gear. I guess my only advice would be to spread the word that you love hand me downs, they grow out of clothes so incredibly fast.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!!! A baby misses!!!! She is going to be so darn precious!!! I swaddle my babies for a long time, it helps them so much. I love the carriers that you can place on your back and I really have enjoyed my baby monitor that has a view/camera.
ReplyDeleteHelen, congratulations this is very exciting. You are blessed indeed and you are such an inspiration of thanks giving. Love to you,
Shauna xo
Hooray! Having a little girl is so much fun, though I'm sure I'd say the same of a boy if I had one. I'm so happy you're feeling well too! Enjoy all the rest you possibly can while you still can!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry too much about baby gear. I remember stressing out about that because I was too sick to think logically about we needed; turns out they only need "diapers, blankets and boobs (or bottles, as the case may be)", as our sweet/hilarious midwife told us, and it was so true. I know you're surrounded by wonderful mothers with godly and practical advice, so take advantage and soak it up, but know that God gave you guys this baby girl and He'll give wisdom along with her :)
(PS. you ever want to talk reading material then totally email me. I have a whole shelf of great titles)
Hehe I totally guessed wrong! Dots told me you hardly looked like you were gaining weight so I predicted you would have a boy but YAY so glad it's a darling little girl! She's going to be adorable. Praise God!

Yayh! terrific post...Keep on posting such good things....
ReplyDeletecongratulations! little girls are the best, and we were totally wishing for a baby girl as well :) i have to say that one of the most useful pieces of baby gear is a swing. nothing fancy, and easy to find second hand. so, so helpful to have your hands free and make breakfast or grab a shower x
