We love reasons to celebrate, so when we found out a dear friend would be in town for her birthday weekend, we schemed to surprise her with a mid-morning feast. I whipped up a quick tissue paper garland the night beforehand to hang over our dining table for a festive touch, and we just partook in a simple spread of wine food with berry lemonade instead of wine since it was brunchtime. All the edibles were store-bought, because, to be honest, the time I used to tarry in the kitchen has transferred over to caring for Serene. We all had a grand time nonetheless, for though we are often around people, legit quality time with dear friends feels far and in between, and therefore, is all the more to be cherished. Oh, and now I want to eat smoked salmon with cheese and crackers all. the. time.
