Pocketful of skirt
After making a reversible circle skirt for Serene, I wanted to try whipping up an A-line version. I envisioned a knee length skirt with less flounce so that superimposed pockets can be highlighted. I ended up using part of a vintage pillowcase for the skirt, and vintage reproduction fabric for the pockets. I have similarly shaped pockets on one of my skirts, so I thought they might look fun on a skirt for Serene, even if she doesn't yet comprehend the usefulness of pockets. Sewing this skirt was a speedier and simpler endeavor than the reversible circle skirt was, and I was tempted to whip up more. Sewing baby skirts may be a new infatuation of mine!

ReplyDeleteHello! Your daughter and her skirt are adorable! I've been wanting to learn how to sew for quite some time now. What kind of sewing machine do you use? Are you self-taught or did you take any classes?
ReplyDeleteI love this! Too cute!
