Fall has officially arrived, and although we continue to bake in 90 degree weather here in Southern California, we're making the best of it by patronizing the local beaches while we still can. During our stint in San Diego last week, we trekked down to the shore for a spell. The sun's rays were generous and the crashing waves aggressive, which elicited shrill screams of delight from most of us who got soaked in salty sea spray, except for Serene Joy, who, as the rhythmic waves drew ever nearer, grew all the more apprehensive. Though usually a squirmy, curious ball of smiley energy, she is more reserved and seeks safety only in her mama's arms at the beach. I don't mind the extra snuggling one bit, for time is ticking faster than I prefer - she turns one next week!

  2. Hi Helen!

I found your blog through a wedding website, which featured your vintage wedding. I was in love with every since aspect of the wedding, from the bridesmaid dresses to the vintage photo booth. I was curious - where do you usually shop for vintage clothing? Especially the yellow dress (with the white belt) you wore as a bridesmaid dress to Irene's wedding, its so lovely!

    Thank you

    1. hi jessica! you're so sweet. thank you for your kind words. i usually shop for vintage clothing at any of the southern california flea markets (e.g. long beach, santa monica) or vintage shops. i think i got the yellow dress at american vintage (either the melrose location in LA or the dtown fullerton location in the OC). hope this helps. please let me know if you have any other questions. :)

    2. Thank you so much, Helen! You definitely found some hidden treasures at the flea market and vintage shops. You look so classy and elegant in them. I have not had any luck finding some affordable vintage dresses in my area, but thank you for your recommendations! Also, thank you dearly for answering my question.

I can truly tell that you are a follower of Christ by your attitude and spirit! Keep up the good work, I love your blog!
