More Saturdays like this, please
Serene spent this past month taking more and more steps by the day, and as of last week, her courage and effort rewarded her as an official walker. Today, she turns fourteen months, and is as outgoing, sweet, and active as ever. She doesn't ever prefer to sit or stay still, but rather, is the culprit for all sorts of mischief. All while babbling and jabbering up a storm. Her vocabulary currently comprises of "mama", "mah-mee" (mommy), "ba" (ball), "dah-dee" (daddy), "bah-bee" (baby), "aye" (hi), and "pah-pee" (puppy). Alex and I are thoroughly enjoying her one-year-old self. She understands more, communicates more, and is more mobile. We spent some time outdoors last Saturday so that Serene could mosey about freely (even if she currently walks like a zombie duck!). I've been craving Mediterranean fare for a while now, so we went to my favorite cafe in the area. To Alex's delight, it was close to an old-fashioned soda fountain, where he picked up some root beers. Thankful for an agenda-free Saturday afternoon with my loves, and for the imminent Christmas season to celebrate the advent and Christ's glorious birth.

Helen! Such cute pictures. I love Saturdays that are free. I love your outfit in the last picture. How are you feeling? I'm so excited to see you progress and to become a mother of "children." It's so wonderful. Love,
