Annual jaunt to the fair
Alex and I have ventured to the fair every year since we started dating; it was one of our first group dates six years ago. We made it to the fair its closing weekend last Friday, with the main objective to take photo booth pictures, which we've accomplished since Serene's first trip to the fair three years ago. We love watching our little family grow through the photo booth strips. The last snapshot on this year's is my favorite because Serene totally posed like that on her own.
We don't do much else at the fair except eat and go to the farm. I'm not the biggest fan of fair food and Alex didn't feeling much like eating, so we had the hardest time choosing things to try that evening. We ended up all sharing a bloomin' onion, roasted corn for the kids, frozen banana, and fried chicken in a waffle on a stick. The kids enjoyed the farm the most, where they romped about simulating pastoral life. It was so endearing watching Valor waddle about picking fruit, and seeing Serene comprehend all the activities ("I milk a cow, mama! I go shopping with my money, mama! That's a baby sheep, mama!"). Because Alex and I hadn't been feeling well, we almost didn't go to the fair this year, but I'm glad we did. Thankful my husband is so fond of instilling and upholding family traditions, and creating these special memories.
