The first two weeks of December have made for a bustling Christmas season thus far, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. Which makes calm, everyday moments at home worthy of capturing. Serene learned letter D for dog, donut, duck, dim sum, and Disneyland last week. This week, she learned E is for egg, elephant, Elena of Avalor, and Eloise. She has also been asking to learn ballet like some of her favorite storybook characters, so we signed her up for toddler ballet & tap, which started last week. The whole experience was so foreign to her that she stood and stared the majority of the time. This week, however, she was totally into it and tried to imitate everything her teacher did. It was the funniest and cutest. Valor has been communicating more in mostly single syllable "words." Some favorites include "pea" (please), "tee-tee" (cookie), "deh!" (again), "me" (milk), "jee" (tree), "bur" (bird), "ahmo" (animals), and "meh!" (Amen). He continues to get into all sorts of messes, and we can't help but laugh at his antics. The kids love each other so, often asking for one another if the other isn't present. Alex and I are thankful for a full season of life, even if it stretches us at times. Alex started leading us in weekly marriage meetings, where we set aside an hour or so to just communicate about how our souls in Jesus are doing, how we feel our marriage is going, how we feel parenting is going, our weekly schedules, what to make for dinner that week, finances, and errands to run. Doing so has been helping so much in managing the different aspects of our lives, and in praying together. We need abundant grace because we are tremendously inadequate. Thankfully, God's grace is sufficient for every circumstance.
