Sharing the love
When our friend shared the love and invited us to watch Mary Poppins for free ninety-nine, thanks to his hefty gift certificate for being a young chap gifted in theater, we couldn't decline. I saw Mary Poppins the last time it was in LA circa 2009, and it was just as supercalifragilisticexpalidocious as ever this time around, thanks to the enchanting tap numbers, eye-popping scenic design, and aesthetically ravishing turn-of-the-century costumes (Where can I get a coat like Mary Poppins'?). Oh, and the flying - I am convinced that staged spectaculars are always niftier when the actors fly. Our evening was made even grander with a finale of legit macarons, the sweet treat I can never resist. Mary Poppins aftermath has hit our household; the husband sings "A Spoon Full of Sugar" at the top of his lungs while washing dishes. What a stud.
