Our cheery tree

We commenced Christmas decorating in our little home by bedecking our very first Christmas tree. We bought Christmas lights, and the Mister learned how to string them onto the tree for the very first time. I decided not to purchase any ornaments, because Craftheopolis is brimming with supplies to embellish the tree. I made a multitude of ornaments from my fabric stash, strung doily snowflakes with baker's twine, and reused our novel heart garlands to festoon the tree. I was hesitant about what to use as a tree topper, and ended up making a goldenrod tissue paper flower hurriedly. I feel like it appears a smidgen awkward, but we're growing accustomed to it. We used burlap we had on hand as a tree skirt, and I arranged some vintage decor around the tree to spruce up the corner it's in. We're rather enjoying sitting back with a cuppa tea to gaze with appreciation at our cheery tree, which transmits warm tidings every time we look at it, particularly as I think about the sweet story around how we acquired it. Happy December, and cheers to Christmastide.

  3. Well, I don't think the flower is too awkward, it makes it unique and exclusive! haha

Your tree looks absolutely stunning! Tell me though, do you have a really big window in your living room, or how did you get so much light in there for your photos? It looks like natural light.
