Hope you had a grand weekend, dears. Ours was a gem - a rare weekend where we'd hardly anything on our calendar, which entailed rest. Leisure reading in a sunshine-washed bedroom. Sermon-prepping (for Alex) after a homemade brunch. Grocery shopping at Trader Joe's without beating the clock. Capturing on camera as many of our 14-week-old's winsome smiles as possible. Cherishing time at home with my loves because we'd survived my first full week back at work, and are finding that Serene is generally no less jolly than she was when I was home 24/7 with her. Which soothed bouts of anxiety (insecurity?) that perhaps, just perhaps my absence would permanently hamper her socio-emotional well-being and turn her into an emo teenager one day. Grateful that all working mama testimonials declare that adjustment for all gets easier as time goes by, and exceedingly appreciative for a Saturday to just be still.
