Hope you mamas and mama figures had a most wonderful Mother's Day! Alex's seminary graduation festivities occurred over the weekend on the evening before and the night of Mother's Day, so we commemorated Mama's Day, mama's way. We slept in on Saturday, and I woke up to a darling card from Serene, fluently translated and delivered by Alex. All I wanted to do was visit a couple of my favorite vintage shops, so we did just that. I made macadamia nut pancakes for brunch, and off we went. Serene was so curious about the time-honored curios; I wouldn't mind if she became a lover of all things vintage one day! It was so sweet to have a free afternoon for celebratory purposes. The quality time with my two loves reminded me how exceedingly blessed I am to be Serene Joy's mama. God is too kind to bestow upon me the gift of motherhood through our sweet babe, for I am loving this motherhood phenomenon so incredibly much. So grateful to the Lord for my own mom, grandmamas, aunties, mama-in-law, spiritual mothers, and mommy friends who all serve as excellent examples of the mother I hope to be to Serene: sacrificial nurturers who encourage, support, care, comfort, and love their children and families to the utmost.
