The ocean breeze does wonders
As I mentioned here, the Santa Monica Pier has a soft spot on my heart. When a couple of sweet young friends came to visit from Jamaica, taking them to the iconic site last week was a no-brainer. The ocean breeze and bustling boardwalk did wonders for all of our spirits that afternoon. Whenever we gallivant in LA, I always jokingly ask Alex if we'd ever move to the city one day. He loves the suburbs; I love the city (and miss living there sometimes). This time, he almost seriously replied that he wouldn't mind being missionaries in Santa Monica. Previously, he envisioned us being missionaries in Waikiki and Monterey Bay, so we're making progress ;) Of course, in all seriousness, we are beyond blessed and content to serve as missionaries where we are living right now. Thankful for the recurring lesson that God always places us in the most opportune circumstances to know Him and make Him known.

Wow the beach there is simply beautiful. The one down here is not as pretty as yours. Seems like you all had a great time.
ReplyDeleteI love the pics where Alex puts her in his shoulders. Such a daddy thing to do
ReplyDeleteWow, its so beautiful. I would totally love it there too.
ReplyDeleteAmen, I love that perspective He gives. Always amazes me at how carefully and perfectly He brings things together and the timing and circumstances are always just so perfectly placed, whether we realize it or not at the time. He truly is the all-knowing Creator :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, STOP GETTING SO BIG, SERENE!! She just gets cuter and cuter, goodness.
