Yosemite retreat
Our retreat to Yosemite last week was one for the books. With ten kids ages four months to eleven years between three families, it was a high-spirited, fun time. Our rental house was walking distance from the lake and an hour away from Yosemite. We spent a day hiking in the majestic mountains, which was quite a venture. I wore Reverie the whole time while Alex sacrificially wore Valor on his back the entire hike uphill, held Serene in one arm half the way, and carried our backpack and camera in the other arm. The 3 mile hike felt twice as long because our kids aren't able to hike independently yet and because I'm totally out of shape, though the views were awe-inspiring. We spent another day swimming at the placid lake encircled by towering evergreens and quaint houses. I'm thankful to have beheld such wondrous creation. How great are Your works, O Lord! I'm also grateful we got to spend quality time with dear friends. Since all the husbands each pastor a different local church, times like these are few and far between, and therefore, much cherished.
