Letters to Reverie: 5 months
My dear Reverie Hope,
At five months, you're spending much of your waking time on your tummy. You wiggle your limbs in delight so that you look like a wee beached whale. When you're not on your tummy, you're rolling from your back to your tummy and back again onto your back with ease and agility so that we sometimes find you stuck under the couch. You're at the stage where everything within reach ends up in your mouth (i.e. your fingers). You self-soothe by sucking your thumb. We're thankful you've sleep trained yourself for the most part, crying intermittently and thumb-sucking to sleep during the day and night. You grew out of the cradle a couple weeks ago, and are sleeping in the pack n' play full-time now. You're still waking about two times a night to nurse, although this past week has been every other hour due to a growth spurt, perhaps. You coo, giggle, and gurgle to win our hearts for you're happiest in the presence of others. You are the sweetest, most relaxed baby. Even when we're traveling, you're easygoing. Your daddy and I often comment on how sweet you are. I'm pretty wistful about your insistence on growing up, which is why I snuggle you tight as frequently as possible, especially during nursing. Those are special, cherished bonding times. You are deeply and wholly loved, my littlest babe.
Love you so,
Mama
P.S. Reverie at 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 months. Plus, her birth story.
