We've been enjoying gorgeous, warm late September weather this week, which made the shore the place to be for family day. Serene's infectious giddiness peaked when she caught a handful of sand crabs. We were all fascinated by her ability to unearth so many of the critters, for we're not sure when, where, or from whom she learned about sand crabs. It was an adorable science lesson combining letter B for beach and C for (sand) crab and creation, where Serene was the teacher and we were the students.

The time we got to spend outdoors in the presence of creation did wonders for our moods and souls. I've been convicted of my role to set the tone in the home, for I've been succumbing to sinful meltdowns lately. My chaos breeds the kids' chaos. I'm so needy of God's grace and mercy, for I have no patience or gentleness to offer on my own accord. Thankful for our mediator Christ Jesus who doesn't leave me in my wretchedness!
