The past three weeks have been a blur for we moved to a new place the weekend after Thanksgiving. Our new home is a testament to God's abounding kindness to us in Christ, a tale we look forward to telling in person. Alex was most concerned about putting up the Christmas tree as we unpacked, while I was preoccupied with putting everything else away.

A couple of weeks ago, we decided it was time to decorate the tree. Alex woke Reverie up because he insisted she couldn't miss her first tree decorating. He stormed into the nursery shouting, "Rev! Rev! It's your first Christmas tree decorating!!!" Reverie wailed the whole time because she was so tired. Serene and Valor focused on hanging all the ornaments in concentrated spots while Alex strung the lights haphazardly. I couldn't stop laughing at it all.

Alex and I have been reading and meditating on a beautiful Advent devotional, which has been softening our hearts to comprehend the beauty of Christ's birth this season. God orchestrates every detail of our lives according to His sovereign plan for His glory, just as He did 2000 years ago so that Christ could be born in a manger in Bethlehem for the purpose of suffering for our sin. Praise God.
