Sorely losing

monopoly deal
Monopoly Deal has been the starring pastime around here. The Mister will cajole anyone who is over, or everyone at a group gathering, to play. I must say I like it better than the original Monopoly - it's faster and more strategic. What I don't like is that when it's just me and the husband playing, I lose more than I win. I've only beat him once, and I hate it. I pretty much detest him immediately afterward because my innumerable losses puncture my doggone pride. I'm rude, cold, and I refuse to play again, except I always end up playing again in hopes of vindication. Funny how this pattern of bitterness, defensiveness, and retaliation is the exact pattern that replays in a larger scale in the midst of our conflicts, which reminded me of this encouraging article. The truth proclaimed in it resonated with me because though my (and his) sin is always the fundamental problem, humble repentance is always the fundamental solution. I am thankful for God's grace through the gospel that teaches me what humble repentance looks like, and for the husband who always models it first in our conflicts. Therefore, losses in Monopoly Deal are just little instruments in my training in humble repentance. So, really, these losses are for my good (though I really want to win!).

  2. Haha, I love to win too, I am so competitive, but I love to be challenged and go for it in games. I'd rather be risky and lose than play it safe and win. I haven't played Monopoly in so long, Monopoly deal seems fun.

  6. Monopoly Deal is our favorite family Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love it so much, so many late nights, fun memories and laughing. Our new favorite it Ticket to Ride. Have you heard of it? It's so fun, really, you must try it. It's gun with about five people. I have seen your blog through Marie and I love your photography. I think with digital cameras most of us can take pretty good pictures, but your eye is on a whole other level. You are fantastic through the lense. I really enjoy looking at your pictures. Take care,

Honestly, you are very talented. I love your faith, your blog ideas (Les Mis), your wardrobe (specifically the dress you wore at the xmas tree lot when you got your tree), and I love the food you post. Thank you for the inspiration. I'm following for sure. Love it.

    Take care,

  8. Oh, this was an addiction over at my parents' last year. Best I not remind them that they have Monopoly deal, or we will never stop playing it (again).

PS: I'm also a sore loser, especially when it comes to 30 seconds

  12. he always wins too!

but it is true that, even though trying harder is a nice strategy, sometimes it's just okay to lose.

  20. With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any problems of plagorism
or copyright violation? My website has a lot of completely unique content I've either created myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my permission. Do you know any methods to help protect against content from being ripped off? I'd definitely appreciate it.
