Just a smattering of photos from our apple picking foray last weekend, which was in part a "field trip" for Serene who had learned the letter A (for apple) that week. It was also Valor's first legitimate time apple picking because he was asleep during last year's attempt. He had the best time toddling about plucking apples from stubby trees his size and exclaiming "appo" repeatedly. Alex and I resoundingly agree fruit picking is a more enjoyable pastime now that both kids are independent enough to do so on their own while we observe and guide the process. It was a wholly lovely weekend spent together as a little family preceding this historic week.

A lot has been happening in light of the presidential election this past Tuesday. Among many, I am sobered and uncertain about how our new president-elect shall move the course of our nation. All I can do is fervently pray for him and our country. I am thankful that above the rulers and kings of this world, Jesus is the ultimate King. Nothing is a surprise to Him for He is sovereign and is working out His will, even if we may not understand it in the moment. Meanwhile, I pray for grace to love others well - just as He has loved us. I rest in the hope in the gospel. The hope in the future. The hope in my children's eyes as they comprehend the world. The hope that fuels me to teach them the grace and love of God, which I pray is the grace and love that moves the world for the ultimate kingdom.
