We had a simple Christmas this year, which we cherished. We commenced Christmas morning singing a hymn and reading the tale of Christ's birth from Matthew before opening gifts. We Facetimed my parents, my brother, and my mother-in-law when the kids opened gifts from them as they couldn't be there with us. Alex's dad and brother stopped by with dim sum for brunch and we just enjoyed a slow, cozy day celebrating Christ's birth. We are thankful for the sweet gift of Verity to our family in time for Christmas this year, but also heartbroken for life unexpectedly lost in my extended family. While this season brings a mixture of joy and sorrow, praise God for sending Jesus to enter into broken humanity so that we'd have hope forevermore. Grateful we can draw near to Him who empathizes with our sorrows and grants eternal comfort.
