First four weeks with four kids

Because our first four weeks with four kids fell among the holidays, the days melted together into an indistinguishable blur. I'm certain attempting to ensure four kids ages five and under survive while sleep deprived has something to do with it too. But it's been incomparably sweet to witness our family transition alongside Alex. The three older kids are in love with their baby sister. Valor is working on pronouncing Verity's name. He started off with "Vetaly." Then it became "Veh-ih-tee." Now it's "baby Vetty." Serene greets the baby with "Aw-baby-Verity-you're-so-adorable!" Reverie squeals "Baby!" with delight as she engulfs her with a head hug.

The chilly January days prompt us to stay in. The big kids enjoy their Christmas gifts all day long, notably geography puzzles, new books, magnetic tiles, train tracks, and new art supplies. All while we are plunged into the depths of newborn life, which causes us to seek the Lord for mercy and grace. So thankful for Alex who is an amazing teammate, husband, and father. Thankful to run this race towards Jesus with him as we're entrusted to disciple these four precious souls for the time being.
