It's the little things like puffy cotton candy clouds hovering above a skyline, sister city signs, red brick edifices, wooden street markers, colorful bunting flying cheerily in the sky, handmade leather purses, baskets of Mexican candy, the always-busy freeway, colorful macarons, and varied architecture spied on a leisurely amble through Downtown Los Angeles that makes me love the city ever more.

Loverly

my fair lady
The days plunge into darkness and penetrating chill so early these days that our weekly date nights have been characterized by staying in, vegetating on the couch, and popping in a movie. I've the sweetest chap of a husband because we usually end up watching my favorite movie musicals though he's had a history of abhoring the genre. I am thankful for his sacrificial love (and his blossoming preference for musicals now); he's been singing "Loverly" everyday since we watched My Fair Lady. The Mister really is a loverly fellow, and shows me love though I am so unworthy, which is a mere shadow of God's kindness towards me. I was reflecting on how I am filled with all of these characteristics, but am redeemed by God's grace through the cross. He is so good to us, isn't He? Happy Friday, ladies and laddies!

We had been all ajitter with excitement ever since sweet friend Danni unveiled plans to open a shop. We commemorated her unprecedented venture this Friday evening past before her shop's grand opening. The celebration was absolutely marvelous a la Danni & Nick, as you can perceive per the photos above. We had a ball admiring all the lovely decor, oohing at handmade or one-of-a-kind finds, savoring tasty eats, participating in photobooth craziness, listening to Me & Mr. Cassidy live, dabbling at DIY stations, and cavorting with a smattering of lovely chums Ruby, Linda, Reinna, RJ, and Ashley. Danni is one of the most creative gals I know (she was the most terrific coordinator at our wedding), and she has outdone herself with her brick-and-mortar store brimming with vintage pretties and crafty curios. We are so proud of her, and are so encouraged that the Lord has blessed her and Nick with their dream of a store! Witnessing sweet friends glorify the Lord through their creativity is such a beautiful testament to God's goodness. If you're in Southern California, you must make a pit stop at Oh, Hello Friend!

P.S. Thank you all for your sweet thoughts in my previous post about my dear grandma. They really mean so much, and I am so touched by your kindness. Thank you times a million again and again. God is good in manifold ways.
