Our Disneyland finale
Our Disneyland passes expired last week, which coincided with the week leading up to Serene's birthday. Making the most of our last week there was obligatory, especially when Serene requested to "go to Dissylan." It's so sweet to be able to say "yes" and witness her delight in the Disney grandeur. She had a ball chatting with and sitting on the laps of all the princesses, watching her favorite shows (Frozen at the Royal Theatre, Mickey's Magical Map, Disney Junior - Live on Stage), and riding the kiddie rides for the last time. As a birthday celebration, we took her to dine with the princesses at Ariel's Grotto, which she enjoyed (although Alex felt it was not worth the dent it made in our pocketbook).
We were exceedingly blessed to have been able to go to Disneyland for a year since Serene turned one, thanks to the accumulation of baby shower and birthday monetary gifts. We've had so much fun observing her learn and recall all things Disney-related over the past year. Valor got to go to Disneyland since he turned three months, staring wide-eyed at all the flurry around him. Even if he won't remember the trips, we will. We were one of those double-stroller wheeling, baby-wearing families with a toddler, a baby, tons of snacks, and an overflowing diaper backpack in tow. We'd race from point A to B, attempting to fit in as much as possible before leaving to ensure we didn't have overtired babies.
Alex and I had passes the first year of our marriage, where we often spent our weekly date nights. We've had so much fun going as a family of three-going-on-four this past year. We're contemplating saving Christmas and birthday monetary gifts to acquire passes again, perhaps when Valor turns one. But as we learn that the resort is raising its already skyrocketing prices, we're reminded it is a great privilege (not a necessity) to be able to go.
