The sun will come out tomorrow.
So you gotta hang on 'til tomorrow, come what may!
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow.
You're only a day away!

Happy Halloween from little orphan Annie, Sandy the dog, Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks, and Grace Farrell! We adore Annie the musical. Serene is brimming with spunk and optimism - quite the Annie in that regard. Since Valor's been born, we have been infatuated with his chubby cheeks. Sometimes I remark that he looks like a puppy. Hence, he makes the perfect Sandy. Which makes Alex and me Daddy Warbucks and his secretary, Grace, respectively. After all, Daddy Warbucks and Grace end up together, while Annie and Sandy are an inseparable duo.

We all already had pieces in the closet that worked for our costumes, except for Valor. I was planning to make the baby a Sandy costume, but during a fortuitous excursion to the thrift store a month ago, I stumbled upon a puppy costume for less than the cost of fabric to make it. I am pretty thankful I did absolutely no sewing for Halloween this year. We would all totally wear our costumes on a normal basis, except for Valor, of course. Serene's dress is vintage, which she is wearing with knee high socks that I ordered to go with her dresses this winter (hopefully, we will get some semblance of cold weather around here soon), and classic Mary Janes. My dress is a vintage teal rayon number with puffed sleeves, a natural waistline, and midi length skirt I think Grace would have worn as a classy 1930s secretary, accessorized with a high waisted belt, jaunty hat, and t-strap shoes. Alex's Daddy Warbucks costume is a suit he typically wears on Sundays to church. We just got a bow tie to transform it into a black tie ensemble, fitting for a 1930s billionaire. Valor was a good sport to don the puppy costume, though he hated having a dog nose drawn in.  He screeched and flailed, so his nose turned out uneven and messy. Oops! Alex commented that if people don't know the musical, we could just look like a nicely dressed family with a dog. Haha!
