A farmer and her pumpkin crop
We almost didn't venture over to the pumpkin patch this year. After our stint at the apple orchard earlier this month, I was content not visiting its pumpkin counterpart. But Alex was persuasive. Not because he has a true affection for the pumpkin patch, but because he knew I might regret not going this year for memory's sake. I am a blessed woman that my husband seeks to look out for my interests! He packed us up and off we went this week for family day. I half expected the kids to be grumpy and underwhelmed, but Serene and Valor were both captivated by the sea of orange squash dotting the field. They were cheerful and energetic, which delighted us. We dressed them up as a pint-sized farmer and a pumpkin, which highly amused us. It was Valor's first trip to the pumpkin patch, and Serene's third trip; she was two weeks old during her first time there two years ago, and a year old last year. I suppose this year could be Valor's second year at the patch, since I was about two months pregnant with him at this time last year. We marvel at the abundant grace evident in the pumpkin patch pictures over these past three years. Needless to say, I am thankful we ended up going. We will treasure these times in the years to come.
