Annual apple picking foray
We've managed to go apple picking every year since we had kids. This year was Verity's first trip to the orchard, which she enjoyed in the security of our arms. The three older kids spent about 20 minutes total decimating the trees (in Alex's words), which we laugh about because it takes an hour and half to get there each way. We normally spend a couple of hours there, but we got there this year 30 minutes before closing. Well, 20 minutes of happiness is worth 3 hours of driving. Thankful to Alex for being down to make our family happy and uphold the tradition to usher in fall, especially in the wake of a difficult and full summer. Praise God for mercies anew every morning in every season. We can't wait to make candied apples and apple pie with our bountiful haul!
